          FAQ

Q1.) What is the standard of test? Why some of them turn to pink once they get in touch with the DMG solution while others have to wait for a longer time?

A1.) Before testing with DMG test solution, you should check that the sample does not bare protective coating layer (e.g. Lacquer, which cut off any direct contact with the plating layer.) You should remove coating before conducting the test to prevent deviation of test result.

If the sample is of nickel colour (no matter it bare nickel or not), DMG solution will response quickly.

If the sample is not nickel colour, you should rub the sample for a longer time since the nickel content of the sample maybe lower.

Generally speaking, rub 8 to 10 times would be enough to ensure the result.

Q2.) What is the European Union standard for non-nickel bearing? How many nickel content it contains can fulfill it?

A2.) Non-nickel bearing means NO nickel content will present in the products. A. Non-nickel bearing means NO nickel content will present in the products. If you target European countries as your market, you should ensure your products meet the requirement of EN1810﹐EN1811 & EN12472. EN1810 concern the amount of nickel content in the sample. EN1811 & EN12472 concern the amount of nickel will be released from the sample.

Actually, we cannot found any nickel-containing electroplating product can meet the above nickel releasing standard.

Q3.) Only a tiny red spot is found after conducting DMG solution test, can the products fulfill the standard?

A3.) Any red/pink colour indicates the presence of nickel. You cannot meet the requirement of nickel-safe standard of countries in European Union since they monitor nickel product strictly.
